The Foothill Oaks Elementary Character Traits (Life Skills) Awards are based on the school's motto of Be Safe, Be Respectful and Be Responsible.

Students are selected by their teachers for consistently exhibiting these traits in and out of the classroom. The winners are recognized and honored in an assembly during which they are presented with a certificate. Parents and family are invited to attend the award assembly.
